You have to be able to actually afford it, but you don’t have a mortgage, so figure what you spend on your house is your limit (you obviously don’t have to spend the whole amount). Let me see what you come up with.
Boat
Trailer
RV
Truck
Amphibious motorhome
Barge
What’s your ideal mobile life look like?
For me? I don’t know, it’s a tough one since I’ve got kids and all, But I think this
hopefully pulling something like this
Still not sure on the specific boat, I would prefer twin engine, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be fast, but under 8000 lbs loaded weight and sleeps a family of 4 comfortably.

If it’s a mobile life it’s gonna just be me.
These things are great.Tall enough to stand up inside but not the recreational behmoth caravan that everyone hates.
Although I have no idea how powerful the engine is.

Globalcruiser 7500 and towing my 109 IIa behind it, or maybe I go with a 88" IIa at that point so it can just be a fun run around.

sportsmobile would be a great choice, but I think it might be tight for a family of 4. I guess not though since it has a sleeping berth up top. it probably has lots of tow capacity too.

Yea, I don’t have kids yet, so all I have to worry about is my wife and I. This would be the perfect combination too, I love offroading (even though I’ve done very little of it) and my wife loves the water.

There’s any number of 40-60 foot boats at a more realistic starter-home $100,000 range if you lose the Swan name and can settle for something a lot less striking.

I’m dead-set at an old Dakar Rally support truck, but the link for an example I know is something I can only retrieve on my desktop.
My biggest problem, however, is what boat to have. Like, I have an idealized powered sailing yacht, but that shit’s impossible, so a good sailed one that fits 7 comfortably will do.

True, but 6 axles make needing to change a blown tire less critical or alternatively the winch on the front of the Series would do just fine in that respect.

I had my first sailing experience a couple months ago. Although no wind so we just motored around Lake Michigan, but I loved it. I’ve always had a thing for sail boats and the ocean/large bodies of water. I’m seriously considering taking sailing lessons next year.

we go to the RV show every year and we will probably end up buying a 36' or so pull behind. light enough so my 1500 will pull it, but plenty big enough for the two of us and the dog.

I saw a bunch of hippies living out of this in the middle of nowhere in Oregon.
That’s a bus with a VW can grafted into it. You can see them in the background smoking pot.
I’m considering getting an old Isuzu diesel box truck (can be found for cheap) and converting the back into a tiny home. I might rent out my house and travel around for a bit.

Limmer Boot in Intervale, NH. I used to do environmental research, and was tired of blowing $150 a year on glued boots that just fell apart. A colleague recommended Limmer. Because they’re made from a single piece of leather that is sewn to the sole, they’re durable and repairable. I spent in the neighborhood of $300 on these back in ‘06, and with regular waxing and resoling every 4-5 years, they’ve been fantastic. Also: some folks also swear by White, but I don’t have any experience with their products.
Limmer’s off-the-shelf boot is made by Meindl, and their customs are made (I think) in the Intervale/North Conway area, but the price and the two year wait list have always scared me off.

Nice. $300 ain’t bad for an all leather, well made boot. I got tired of tearing up expensive boots, so I’ve just been hiking and backpacking in Merrell trail running shoes. I’m young enough that it hasn’t started to mess up my feet and ankles yet. Although I’ve gotten home with black and blue feet a few times. I might have to get a pair of those mid weights.
